The pastor (at the village church josh patterson) confessed how he was bored planning his sermon on Hebrews 1, and how his worship had seemed so dry.He couldnt get his head around why!? then he said it just "hit him". If we read Hebrews 1 verses 1-13 ITS ALL ABOUT JESUS!! there isnt one refernce to us! The writer of hebrews just hammers on about jesus and quotes old testament scripture that points to Jesus. It just gets me thinking how often do we "skim over" these verses that point to Jesus alone? I just want to get to the ones where it talks about ME and what hes done for ME, his blessings that he has given ME, the salvation he won for ME. This is seen when we come to worship Him. If the song is'nt one we like, or doesnt do anything for ME, or if the worship itself "is just doing nothing for ME" (ive heard that said and been guilty of the same way of thinking) then we just wont worship! And its dry! I pray (for myself and for the church) we worship God for who He is! and for all he does! He saved us for his glory! After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become much superior to angels as the name he inherited is more excellent than theirs.
