Songs of Ascent VI – The Lord my Protector

The Songs of Ascent are a collection of Psalms (running from Psalm 120 through to Psalm 135) which pilgrims sang as they travelled towards Jerusalem and up to the temple. In Psalm 125, the Psalmist reflects upon the strength and security offered by Mount Zion.  As he does so, he comes to understand that true strength and protection proceed from the Lord.

In the sixth of a fifteen part series, Ronnie Evans asks how, as believers, we should respond when faced with difficulty and opposition. We see that this Psalm calls believers to trust in the Living God who guards his people. We see, therefore, that the Lord truly is our Protector.
